My ancestor, Paul Rider [Ryder],
is listed as publican of The Grapes, Gainsford Street Horsleydown in 1828.
Between 1836 -1941 he is listed as publican of The Rose and Crown ,Long
Lane, Bermondsey. He moved to Stockton Durham in 1841 [before the census]
and died there in 1843. On his death certificate he is given as a licensed
victualler. His wife Sarah is listed in Wear Street Sunderland 1851
census as a publican **
