The Historical Directory of Pubs in the South East of England, including London
If you have a query then try the search engine first, if you have something to add to the historical Pubs site,
please email - and as an added incentive, - if you offer useful information for a Public House or Beer House,
then I will usually add lots of extra detail / landlords. All non-copyright pictures are always welcome;
BUT, if I do not have relevant pictures on the site, then I do not know where to find them.

Dog and Pheasant, Mile
End Road, Mile End
previously the Spread Eagle (c 1760 - 1810)
It first appears by this name in the
alehouse recognisances of 1764, although is probably of a greater age. ***
It was first mentioned in the licensing
records in 1811, although under its previous name the Spread Eagle it dates back
to the 1760's.

Email Essex Pubs at:
EssexPubmail
I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
