Edgar Tracey and his wife Sarah Ann in 1931 (at his daughter Ada's wedding).
"Edgar Tracy Pennick was married first to Louise Saunders in 1886. They had a daughter, Eva, born 1887, but she had rheumatic fever and died in 1913/14, unmarried. After Louise died, Edgar Tracey married her sister, Sarah Ann in April 1902 and had 4 children, Edgar Frank Saunders (Frank); Mary Gladys; Ada Emily and Alfred Saunders (Mick - my father). Edgar Tracey went to sea as a young man and also worked at Paxmans in Chelmsford before taking a pub, The Five Bells, at Boreham. At Boreham, he had his own blacksmiths shop and forge and classed himself as an agricultural engineer as well as an Inn Keeper. About 1908 the family moved to Coggeshall where they kept the Yorkshire Grey Pub in Tilkey Road for 33 years. In 1939 Edgar Tracey retired and he, Sarah Ann, Eliza and Mary moved to Berkeley Cottage, further up Tilkey Road."**
