The Historical Directory of Pubs in the South East of England, including London

Search the Historical Pubs site for the South East of England by street address, surname and known pub names powered by FreeFind
If you have a query then try the search engine first, if you have something to add to the historical Pubs site, please email - and as an added incentive, - if you offer useful information for a Public House or Beer House, then I will usually add lots of extra detail / landlords. All non-copyright pictures are always welcome; BUT, if I do not have relevant pictures on the site, then I do not know where to find them.

I Was delighted to find my gt grandfather's name for the above pub for 1894 - 1908, as I had no idea how long he had been the publican there. However, his first name is Argur, not Argal or Arthur! With such an unusual name it has sometimes been difficult to track him down: on his birth cert he is Argar, on marriage cert it is Agur, on death cert and gravestone it is Argur, and the census records vary between Angus and Arthur. It seems that even Kellys has got it wrong! *****

I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
