*** Chris Shelley informs that Edward Lees was the publican from 1818 until his death on 1847. Edward's first wife Jane Lily died in 1828. He married a second time to Susannah (formerly Benton, nee Talmarsh) and, after his death, she continued as the licensee until her death in 1866. Edward & Susannah's unmarried daughter, Susan Hannah Lees, took over until her death, aged 42, in 1873.
