The Historical Directory of Pubs in the South East of England, including London

Search the Historical Pubs site for the South East of England by street address, surname and known pub names powered by FreeFind
If you have a query then try the search engine first, if you have something to add to the historical Pubs site, please email - and as an added incentive, - if you offer useful information for a Public House or Beer House, then I will usually add lots of extra detail / landlords. All non-copyright pictures are always welcome; BUT, if I do not have relevant pictures on the site, then I do not know where to find them.

White Horse, Little Totham

Known Residents

The following entries are in this format:

Year/Publican or other Resident/Relationship to Head and or Occupation/Age/Where Born/Source.

1769-1772/Stephen Rice/../../../family History *****

Stephen Rice was a licensee of the White Horse, Little Totham from 1769 to 1772 and at Maiden St. Mary 1796 to 1799. A Stephen Rice died at Tollesbury in 1809 aged 82. He may have been the father of Vaizey, who was born in 1760.
TOLLESBURY parish records show Vaizey (m1760), Jacob (m1758 & 1783), Isaac (1772) and Abraham Rice marrying and having children who were given similar Christian names but I have been unable to find their origins - probably in the parish of Tolleshunt D'Arcy where the parish records are missing. *****

I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
