Fox, Mashbury

Known Residents

I am researching my ancestry and discovered that my Great Great Grandfather was once the publican at The Fox.  You  record him as the first known resident, listed as 'James' - in fact he was christened John Bush and was born in 1826 at Chelmsford. He married Caroline Clark on 25.12.1846 and had 8 children. Three of them, Carrey, Ezra and Harry would have been born at The Fox (1867, 1869 and 1873) although trace is then lost of Carrey and Ezra who may have died in childhood.
On the 1881 census John is recorded as living in Cobden Road, Leyton and working as a carpenter. He died in 1883. *

I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
