The Historical Directory of Pubs in the South East of England, including London

Search the Historical Pubs site for the South East of England by street address, surname and known pub names powered by FreeFind
If you have a query then try the search engine first, if you have something to add to the historical Pubs site, please email - and as an added incentive, - if you offer useful information for a Public House or Beer House, then I will usually add lots of extra detail / landlords. All non-copyright pictures are always welcome; BUT, if I do not have relevant pictures on the site, then I do not know where to find them.

I am related to the Pearsons,  landlords/ladies of the Cock Tillingham.
A marriage certificate of 1845 for Mary (nee Walford) and John Pearson states the bridegroom's father Richard as being 'Landlord.' We assume this was of The Cock with his wife Lydia, she subsequently took over (with her son John) on the death of Richard. ****
I understand, from the present owners, that the regulars used to heckle the Temperance church goers on their way to the parish church next door!   ****

I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
